Lizandra Gomez-Ramirez is a Rock Island native and graduated from Rock Island High School in 2013. She is the daughter of immigrants whom have instilled in her a passion for social justice and the need for immigration reform. She is the oldest of the Gomez clan with 2 younger sisters and even younger triplet brothers.
She is currently a junior at Augustana College majoring in Anthropology/Political Science/Pre-Law and minoring in Latin American Studies and Sociology. At Augustana, she has two jobs: the first job is as a peer tutor in the Reading/Writing Center and the second is as a Latino Program coordinator for the Office of Multicultural Student Life. She is a member of the Augustana Symphonic Band, in which she plays the B flat and E flat clarinets. She is a member of Latinos Unidos, Commuters Club, Students for Ethical Global Awareness, and Sigma Alpha Iota at Augustana. Her future career plans include attending law school after Augustana to become an Immigration attorney.
